Sevenhill - Balaklava - Freeling - Two Wells - Virginia
On Monday and Tuesday this week I had the pleaseure of hosting the Rural and Regional Executive of the Liberal Party, chaired by Mrs Jo Edwards (a farmer from the south east of SA) as they visited Wakefield. The visit enabled a number of rural communities to speak about the developments and issues in their areas to one of the policy making bodies of our political system.
A broad cross section of interested individuals, businesses and organisations took the opportunity to meet and share about their communities. Issues raised included the ongoing drought, wheat marketing, workforce shortages, country hospital boards and aged care.
Premises visted included Balco at Balaklava, Rural Directions at Freeling, D'Vine Ripe at Two Wells and the Virginia Horticulture Centre.
